In the first T20 match played between India and Sri Lanka, India won the match by 2 runs in a thrilling run chase by Sri Lanka. India’s batsmen were nothing special in this match, but when the bowlers came to bowl, Shivam Mavi, who made his debut for the team, took 4 wickets, surprising everyone with his pace and swing.
The match was played at Wankhede and not only Mavi but also Umran Malik and Harshal Patel got 2-2 wickets. However, India’s brilliant spinner Yuzvendra Chahal did not get a single wicket in this match, and in the meantime, former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria has given special advice to Chahal for his bowling.
Kaneria says that the more Chahal tries to take flight from the pitch, the weaker his bowling will look. He said that Chahal needs to work on his bowling as his ball is not spinning much.
While talking to his youtube channel, Danish Kaneria said,”Yuzvendra Chahal needs to work on his bowling. He hasn’t been able to spin the ball a lot in recent matches. He will not be able to take wickets unless he looks to fly the ball. You need a spinner to dominate during the middle overs.”
Danish Kaneria also praised Hardik Pandya for his outstanding captaincy. Hardik backed Axar Patel for the last over when Sri Lanka needed 13 runs to win from the final over.
“Hardik Pandya showed immense courage as captain. Commentators, including Ajit Agarkar, questioned his decision to give Axar Patel the final over. But he was probably struggling with cramps after taking a catch, added Kaneria.
