CSK vs SRH, IPL 2024: Chennai Crushed Hyderabad With Tushar Deshpande’s Bowling, Beat Visitors By 78 Runs

In IPL 2024, in Match 46, Chennai Super Kings secured a victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad by 78 runs in Chennai on April 28 and earned two points for the team, reaching the third spot in the points table.

Opting to bat first, Ajinkya Rahane and Ruturaj Gaikwad didn’t start strongly and Rahane departed early after scoring just 9 runs from a delivery by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, Gaikwad showed determination in his innings and formed a solid 107-run partnership with Daryll Mitchell from New Zealand.

Daryll was dismissed for 52 runs but Gaikwad continued his aggressive batting, scoring at a strike rate exceeding 150. His innings of 98 runs in just 54 balls led CSK to a competitive total of 212/3 in 20 overs. Shivam Dube also contributed with 39 runs off 20 balls.

In response, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma once again struggled to provide a strong start for the team while chasing. Both Travis and Abhishek were dismissed early within the first 4 overs, with the score at 40/3 in 3.5 overs.

For SRH, Aiden Markram got 32 runs and Heinrich Klaasen got 20 runs for the team.

For Chennai Super Kings, Tushar Deshpande got four wickets while Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana managed to get two wickets each. Shardul Thakur and Ravindra Jadeja got one-one wickets in their kitty.

For playing a solid knock of 98 runs in 54 balls, Ruturaj Gaikwad was given the man of the match award.
