“Cried when I …”Ravi Shastri’s massive statement on Rishabh pant

Former Indian skipper and coach Ravi Shastri remembered the moment when India’s star batsman Rishabh Pant met with a car accident. Shastri said that he had tears in his eyes as soon as he learned about the incident that happened with the young wicketkeeper. Notably, Rishabh Pant met with a car accident in December 2022, which forced him to be out of action for more than a year.

Rishabh Pant stood as the protagonist in the clash against Pakistan, as the southpaw scored 42 runs on just 31 deliveries against his arch rivals. The contribution not only came from batter Rishabh Pant, but even in wicketkeeping, Rishabh rose to the occasion and took three catches. Rishabh Pant’s all-around show helped India get a famous victory over Pakistan in New York by 6 runs.

Speaking about Rishabh, Pant Ravi Shastri said, “All I say for Rishabh is Brilliant performance. I had tears in my eyes when I heard about his accident. When I saw him in the hospital, it was worse. And then for him to come back from there and be back in the A-zone playing one of the biggest games, India vs. Pakistan, is heartwarming.”

Shastri was also all praise for Rishabh Pant’s glove work, even after undergoing major surgery. Speaking about the same, Ravi Shastri said, “Batting, everybody knew. What you’re capable of is the X-factor you have. But your wicketkeeping and range of movement, which you quickly got back into after the operation, are a tribute to how much you worked hard. Not just for yourself; it’s an inspiration to millions around the globe. From adversity and from the jaws of death, you can snatch a win as well. So well done. Keep up the good work.”

Team India will next be up against the USA in New York this Wednesday.
