Cricket Australia Named Skipper For The Fourth Test Match Against India

The fourth and last match of the 4-match Test series between India and Australia will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from 9th March. India is ahead by 2-1 in the four-match Border Gavaskar series. Now Australia has a chance to win the last Test match and make the series 2-2. Meanwhile, the big news is coming out before the fourth Test. Steve Smith will remain captain of the Australian team in the fourth and last Test.

Australia’s regular captain Pat Cummins is in Australia with his sick mother, and in his absence, Steve Smith will captain in the fourth and last Test. In Pat Cummins’s absence, Steve Smith also took charge of the team in the Indore Test. Under Smith’s captaincy, Australia won the Indore Test by nine wickets. After the Delhi Test, Pat Cummins left for home because his mother was ill.

India is ahead 2-1 in the series and will have to win the last Test to qualify for the World Test Championship. Australia has qualified for the World Test Championship final to be held in June.

If Team India wins the fourth and last Test match against Australia in Ahmedabad, it will create history by winning its 16th consecutive Test series at home. Team India will also qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) final.

However, a big blow for the Australia team is that their veteran pacer Jhye Richardson is injured, and now Nathan Ellis will replace him in the squad for the ODI series starting from 17th March.
