Rinku Singh’s exclusion from the Indian cricket team’s 2024 T20 World Cup selection was a decision that drew harsh criticism from both experts and fans. Rinku was placed in the reserves as a result of the BCCI’s decision to select Shivam Dube and Axar Patel as all-around alternatives.
Rinku had a poor IPL season, managing to score a meager 168 runs despite limited batting opportunities. However, KKR won the match, and Rinku has now spoken out regarding the T20 World Cup rejection. In a recent interview, Rinku explained that the team composition played a role in the decision to leave him out of the squad. He also disclosed the discussion he had over the matter with captain Rohit Sharma.
“Yes, even someone who performs well could feel a little disappointed if they are not chosen. But because of the squad composition, I was not chosen this time. It’s alright; one shouldn’t dwell excessively on matters beyond their control. Yes, at first I was a little upset. It doesn’t matter what happened. Anything that occurs does so for the best. There was nothing noteworthy said by Rohit Bhaiya. All he said was to keep working hard. After two years, there is another World Cup. It is not necessary to worry excessively. “This is what he told me,” Rinku stated in a Dainik Jagran interview.
To win the IPL 2024 championship, the Kolkata Knight Riders easily defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets. It was the team’s third IPL championship.
Amazing sensation at the moment. After seven years here, my dream has come true, and we are ecstatic. Regards, GG gentleman. I’ll raise the IPL trophy at last. After the triumph, Rinku declared, “It was God’s plan.”
