India is going with a miraculous journey in Commonwealth Games 2022. After heaps of Gold Medals on 5th August, now the Indian women’s cricket team has qualified into the finals of the game.

Indian women’s cricket team beat England Women’s cricket team by 4 runs in the 1st semi-final of commonwealth games 2022. The 2nd finalist will be decided between New Zealand women’s cricket and the Australian team.

In this match, Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bat first at edgbaston. The attacking opener Smriti Mandhana and Shafali verma added 76 runs for the 1st wicket. Shafali went to the pavilion after playing a lazy innings of 15 runs in 17 balls.

For India, Smriti scored the highest 61 runs facing 32 deliveries. She went on to hit 8 fours and 3 sixes in the inning. Jemimah Rodrigues from India also contributed with the bat and scored 44 runs in 31 balls. With the help of these batters, India managed to get 164 at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 165, England cricket team got a decent start. Opener Sophia Dunkley and Danielle Wyatt added 28 runs for the 1st wicket. Almost every batter from the hosts got off a good start but they failed to convert it into a big one. Natalie Sciver scored the most 41 runs for the team, while Wyatt managed to get 35 runs. Amy Jones also had 31 runs with the bat but these runs were not enough to cross the victory line.

England needed 14 runs in the last over with 6 wickets in hand. Bowling for India Sneh Rana showed her coolness and temperament, and restricted England to 160, thus making a way for India to play the final of the commonwealth games 2022.
