Team India’s pace Sensation Mohammed Siraj was awarded the best fielder of the match award for his brilliant run out against Ireland in India’s tournament opener.
Siraj was very accurate with his ground fielding throughout the match and produced the magical runout in the 13th over of the Irish innings.
On the final delivery of the 13th over, Mohammad Siraj produced a brilliant throw from deep point that reached wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant right on the bounce, and he was quick to dislodge the bails, putting an end to the Irish innings with just 96 runs on the board.
Team India comfortably chased down the target and won the contest by eight wickets. It was Skipper Rohit Sharma who took charge of the run chase, scoring a brilliant 52 that included four boundaries and three towering sixes.
Team India will next be up against their biggest arch rivals, Pakistan, on June 9 in New York.
