“Can’t say I need time to…”Sanju Samson’s Impactful Words on Batting Strike rate

Since the start of the 17th season of the IPL, there has been debate over the strike rate in T20s. Many players like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and KL Rahul have been under the scanner for their strike rates throughout the innings.

However, Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson has now shared his opinion regarding the strike rate.
Sanju Samson, in his recent interaction with the broadcaster, feels that there is no room for waiting games in Twenty20 cricket. Sanju Samson also said that it’s not very easy for the batters to go hard from the very first delivery.

Sanju Samson said, “20 over ka game hai (it’s a 20-over game). Each and every over is five percent of the game. So you just can’t say ke bhai mere ko settle hone ke liye time chahiye (I need time to settle down), I will go for sixes after getting to 10 runs, I won’t hit this bowler, I will hit towards the end.”

Sanju Samson has been picked as a wicketkeeper by Batman for India’s World Cup squad, which is set to commence next month. Sanju Samson feels that the T-20 format demands that batters go and attack from the first ball.

Speaking about the same, Samson said, “There is only one intent in this format—you just have to go out and look for boundaries. You have to show that intent; you have to look for those sixes. You have to do that impact role as soon as possible.”
