Robbin Uthappa went all praise for KL Rahul after his brilliant performance with the bat against the Chennai Super Kings. Kl Rahul played a fantastic knock, scoring 82 of just 53 deliveries, which included nine fours and three sixes.
Kl Rahul, who’s known for his consistency at the top, has shown improvements in strike rate for the last three matches as well.
In his interaction with Jio Cenima after Lucknow’s victory, Robbin Uthappa said that it was delightful to watch KL Rahul bat.
Robbin Uthappa said that he had doubts regarding KL Rahul’s place in India’s World Cup squad, but if he continues to play like this, he could be in the Indian team for the World Cup.
Robbin Uthappa said, “Delightful, absolutely delightful. And I think what you got to love about this inning is the fact that he played just to the merit of the ball, didn’t really try to do too much, and didn’t try to manufacture shots. He just played to the merit of the field.”
Robbin Uthappa further added, “In fact, over the last couple of weeks, I was thinking, I don’t think he’s going to figure in the World Cup squad, but I think if he continues to bat the way he’s batting right now, he’ll find himself a spot there. Whether it’s as a reserve opener or wicketkeeper, that’s a dual role that he can fulfill. I think you might just see him back in the front runners of that spot.”
Kl Rahul is currently in the 4th position on the orange cap list, with his team also in the same position in the points table with 8 points.
