Breaking News: Shreyas Iyer Ruled Out Of IPL 2023

IPL 2023 will start on 31st March with the match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans, but before that, KKR team suffered a major setback. Shreyas Iyer, the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders and the best middle-order batsman, is injured and may have to undergo surgery. For this reason, he can be out of the entire IPL.

According to reports, Iyer may have to undergo surgery for his back injury, due to which he will be away from India for a long time and will also miss the final of the World Test Championship to be played at the Oval in London from 7th June.

A source said, “Iyer was in touch with the doctor in Mumbai and on the third visit to the doctor, he was advised to undergo surgery.” Due to this, he can miss IPL and other important tournaments.

The source further said, “Iyer wants to undergo surgery in London, but the consultation for the operation is still going on as the BCCI is yet to finalize the location of the operation. There is a possibility that the surgery may be done in India.”

According to the reports, Shreyas Iyer has a back injury problem and will have to undergo surgery. For this reason, he can stay away from the cricket field for 4 to 5 months. For this reason, he will not be able to play in the final of the IPL 2023 and World Test Championship. The final World Test Championship between India and Australia will be played at The Oval in England from 7th June to 11.

In the IPL 2022 mega auction, the KKR team bought him for Rs 12.25 crore. Last season, even though KKR could not perform well under the captaincy of Iyer, he showed a fantastic game with his bat. He scored 401 runs in 14 matches of IPL 2022. Iyer has scored 2214 runs in 101 IPL matches, including 19 half-centuries.
