Breaking News: Rohit Sharma Refutes T20 World Cup Selection Meeting Claims

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma denied all such reports, which claimed that he had a meeting with Chairman of Selectors Ajit Agarkar and Rohit Sharma regarding the World Cup squad selection.

Rohit even laughed at the rumors that he and Virat Kohli could open the innings together in the upcoming T-20 World Cup.
Speaking about the team meeting, Rohit Sharma jokingly said that Ajit Agarkar is busy playing golf in Dubai and Rahul Dravid is currently busy with his sons.

In a podcast with Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist Rohit Sharma, she said, “I haven’t met anyone. Ajit Agarkar is somewhere in Dubai, playing golf. Rahul Dravid is watching his kid play in Bengaluru. He was in Mumbai, actually. He was. He got him to play on a red-sand wicket here at CCI (Cricket Club of India). That’s about it.”

Rohit Sharma further added, “We haven’t met, to be honest. In today’s day and age, unless you hear it from either myself, Rahul himself, Ajit himself, or someone from the BCCI coming and talking in front of the camera, everything is fake.”

Earlier, there were speculations that Rohit Sharma had a meeting with head coach Rahul Dravid and chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar regarding the World Cup squad.

In the podcast, former England skipper Michael Vaughan asked Rohit Sharma about the one player he wished to be in India’s World Cup squad for the sake of entertainment.

Rohit Sharma said, “All these guys are quite crazy, to be honest. If anyone makes me laugh, then it’s Rishabh Pant. He is one crazy guy. I have been watching him since he was a kid. I was quite disappointed when he missed a year and a-half due to that accident. He is quite witty. The kind of stuff he does behind the stumps makes you laugh. He has got his own way of doing this; this is what I like about it.”

Team India is going to announce their World Cup squad in the last week of April, as it is mandatory for the team to submit their squad one month before the start of the mega showpiece event.
