Breaking News: RCB Signed Star Indian All-Rounder As The Replacement Of Injured David Willey For IPL 2023

On Monday, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore signed Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav as the replacement for English player David Willey for the 16th season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore officially announced this news on their social media handle. David Willey is currently injured, and hence in place of him, Kedar will play for Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB’s batting order is weak this season, and this Indian all-rounder will provide strength in the lower middle order and can also roll his arm.

Jadhav, who made his IPL debut in 2010, has so far played 93 IPL games and has 1196 runs against his name. The right-handed batter, who has previously represented RCB in 17 matches, was brought on board for INR 1 Crore.

33 years old David Willey made his IPL debut in 2018. David Willey has played 11 matches to date in his IPL career and has scored 53 runs, with an average of 26.50. With his highest IPL score being 20* runs.

In the IPL Auction 2023, the Bangalore franchise acquired David Willey for Rs 2.00 Cr. On Apr 2023, he played his last IPL match against Kolkata at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, India, scoring 11 runs off 10 balls.

In this season, Willey’s performance wasn’t so impressive. He has played four matches for RCB, in which he has scored 35 runs with a strike rate of 109.38. However, he has scalped three wickets with an economy of 7.00.
