Samit Dravid, the son of former India head coach and captain Rahul Dravid, was signed by the Mysuru Warriors on Thursday during the player auction for the upcoming season of the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20. The Warriors hired Samit, who is a middle-order batsman and a bowler, for Rs 50,000. “We’re glad to have him on our team because he has demonstrated great potential in various age-group tournaments for KSCA,” said an official from the Warriors team to PTI.
Samit was a member of the Karnataka under-19 team that won the Cooch Behar Trophy this season, and he also played for the KSCA XI against the visiting Lancashire team earlier this year. The Warriors, who were the runners-up last season, will be captained by Karun Nair, and their bowling lineup will be strengthened by the addition of India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, who was purchased for Rs 100,000.
Nair stayed with the team, but Prasidh had surgery on his left thigh tendon and is working to return to professional cricket.
