Breaking News: India’s T20 World Cup Selection Meeting Date Confirmed

The selection meeting of the Indian team for the selection of India’s World Cup squad is likely to take place on April 30. There are probability squad announcements on May 1st, with the deadline set by the ICC being the same.

Team India’s skipper, Rohit Sharma, is not likely to attend the meeting as he will be with the Mumbai Indians, who are set to play the Lucknow Super Giants today.

There have been reports of a meeting between Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar to get clarity on the squad before Agarkar and the rest of the members of the selection committee pick the final team.

There are some discussion points related to India’s World Cup squad, starting with the wicketkeeper slot with Sanju Samson, Kl Rahul, and Rishabh Pant in contention, and all three of them have performed very well for the franchise.
It is being reported that Sanju Samson is ahead of Kl Rahul for the second wicketkeeper spot. There have been speculations that India is going to go with five bowlers in the squad: Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Another talk of the meeting would be an all-rounder slot, as both Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja have not been in their best form, while Shivam Dube has been performing consistently in the ongoing season.

Shivam Dube has so far scored 350 runs in nine matches, with Hardik Pandya scoring only 197 runs in nine matches, with the highest score of 46.
