Breaking News: Harmanpreet Kaur, Rodrigues Shreyanka patil amongst the big names registered for WBBL draft

Nineteen Indian women cricket players have signed up for the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) draft happening on Sunday, September 1. Notable Indian players like Smriti Mandhana, who is already with the Adelaide Strikers for WBBL 10, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma are part of this draft.

This comes after 80 cricketers, including 11 from Pakistan, were previously nominated for the Big Bash Leagues draft, highlighting the tournament’s global popularity and competitive spirit.

Mandhana, who is joining her fourth Women’s Big Bash League team, was signed before the draft by the Strikers, who have won the WBBL twice. She has previously played for the Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, and Sydney Thunder.

“I always enjoy playing in Australia, and I’m eager to help a team with a successful track record like the Strikers,” Mandhana said. “I’m excited to work again with Luke. Our past collaborations have been very successful, and I’m looking forward to building on that success.”
