Breaking News: Afghanistan Announces Squad for One-Off Test against Ireland

The Afghan Giants are set to face Ireland in a one-off test match. Afganistan has announced 16 members for the match that is going to be played between the two sides.

One of the major drawbacks of the Afganistan squad is the inclusion of star wicketkeeper batsman Rehmanullah Gurbaz, who is in line to make his debut for Afganistan in the longest format of the game. On the other hand, ace spinner Rashid Khan is once again missing out due to injury.

The Afganistan team, under the captaincy of Hashmatullah Shahidi, is set to play their ninth test match starting on February 28.

Gurbaz made his international debut in 2019 and has already featured in 90 international matches for Afghanistan across the two formats. Apart from Gurbaz, Ikram Ali Khil is also part of the set-up and played the role of wicketkeeper when these two teams last met in 2019.

The squad also includes leg spinner Khalil Gurbaz, who has picked up 40 wickets in just 10 matches.

Afganistan defeated Ireland by 7 wickets the last time these two teams met in the longest format of the game, with Rehmat Shah scoring 98 and 76.
