India made a strong comeback against Australia in the 2nd T20I match and bagged a 6-wicket win against the opponents. The series is standing at 1-1 for both the teams and the finale will be played on 25th September (Sunday).
The match between India and Australia was interrupted by rain and the overs were reduced to 8 overs per side.
Batting first, the visitors scored 90 runs which India chased in 7.2 overs with 4 balls to go. It was wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik who scored the winning runs for India where he scored 10 runs in just 2 balls with the help of one six and a four.
At the moment, the pick between Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant is one of the most debatable topics for the team. However, former Indian Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has come up with an interesting solution and said that both Karthik and Rishabh Pant can be added to the same playing XI and it will actually help India.
While interacting with star sports Sunil Gavaskar said,”Yeah I see both of them playing. Hardik at 5, Pant at 6 or maybe Pant ahead of Hardik depending on the situation and Karthik at 7.”
Gavaskar also suggested that Rishabh Pant needs to improve his off-side game.
Little master added,”His offside game. Same with Hardik Pandya as well. Look at how he has developed his off-side game. Bowlers will say he’s got the power, so let’s target his off-side. What Hardik Pandya is doing now is using the pace and hitting over deep point for a six, that’s what Pant has got to do. Pant is a predetermined, premeditated cricketer. He decides quite often what he is going to do before the ball is bowled. That’s why he gets into trouble as he looks for something which is not there.”
