The young Indian batter Prithvi Shaw has finally got some relief as the Mumbai Police have conducted an investigation and informed the court that the accusations against the Delhi Capitals star made by social media influencer Sapna Gill of molestation and physical assault were baseless.
Sapna Gill complained to a magistrate court in Andheri, requesting the filing of an FIR against Prithvi Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav. The complaint alleged three bailable offenses against them.
To make a complaint against Shaw and his friend, Sapna Gill first moved to Andheri Police Station in order to file a case of Molestation.
The police informed the court that upon reviewing the CCTV footage from the pub, it was evident that Gill and her friend Shobit Thakur were visibly intoxicated and engaged in dancing.
Mumbai Police said that Thakur intended to record Shaw using his mobile phone, but the cricketer prevented him from capturing any videos. Upon examining the footage, it is evident that Shaw and others did not engage in any form of molestation toward Gill.
The police further investigated the incident by reviewing CCTV footage from the nearby Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower. The video evidence confirmed that the social media influencer was closely trailing Shaw’s car with a baseball bat in her hand. The footage clearly showed her damaging the windshield of the cricketer’s vehicle, as the police informed the court.
