Indian pacer Harshal Patel who is not featuring in India’s playing 11 in the ongoing series against West Indies due to side strain is all set to be ruled out of Asia Cup too. It is also learnt that, he is also a doubtful starter for World Cup too, as his injury is looking serious.
BCCI is all set to declare their squad for Asia Cup on August 8, and before squad declaration this is huge set back for Indian team in bowling department. Harshal Patel is known for his change of pace and cutters, and in recent times, he has become and elemental part of Indian set up.
His injury will bring opportunities for others as Harshal Patel’s World Cup place is also under scanner. Young pacer like Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan will like to grab this opportunity with both hands whereas experienced bowler Deepak Chahar who is also returning from injury will also want to utilise this opportunity.
