Indian swashbuckler and ICC Men’s T20I Player of the year 2022 Suryakumar Yadav, who is called Mr. 360 degree batter of India is all set to make his test debut in the first match against Australia at Nagpur. This is because the injured Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the first Test match. The first Test match of the 4 test match series (Border-Gavaskar Trophy) between India and Australia will be played in Nagpur from 9 February.
Shreyas Iyer, who has a back injury, is expected to be fit till the second Test match. Due to injury, India’s premier batter Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the three ODI match series against New Zealand due to injury. Shreyas is currently going through rehab at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
According to media reports, Iyer still has pain in his lower back. In such a situation, he has been advised to rest for at least two weeks.
An official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BBCI) said that, as expected, Shreyas’s injury has not yet healed. He has been advised to rest for two weeks. Certainly, he will not be available for the first Test match. The decision on his availability for the second Test will be taken after looking at his fitness.
