Big Blow For Team India, Virat Kohli To Miss The First Two Tests Against England Due To This Reason

Before the five-match Test series against England, team India had a massive setback. According to a recent report, Rohit Sharma and company will miss the services of batting maestro Virat Kohli for the initial two Tests in the much-anticipated series against England.

Kohli made a comeback to the T20I format during the series against Afghanistan and has opted out of India’s upcoming Test series against England due to personal reasons. The batter had a decent series against Afghanistan and he will now join the Indian squad after the first two matches.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed Virat Kohli’s withdrawal from the Indian squad for the upcoming Test series against England. The cricket board expressed its support for the former India captain’s decision.

Virat Kohli has communicated to skipper Rohit Sharma and other members of the Indian team, expressing that representing the country has always been his top priority. The series opener against England is set to take place on Thursday at Hyderabad, with Team India missing Kohli. The BCCI has urged the media and fans to respect the privacy of the star batter.

“Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management and the selectors and has emphasised that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention. The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series,” the BCCI said in a statement.
