Sunrisers Hyderabad has faced a big problem as their main spinner, Wanindu Hasaranga, won’t play in the current Indian Premier League season due to a left heel injury, as per Newswire reports.
Renowned for his exceptional all-around skills, Hasaranga was let go by Royal Challengers Bengaluru before the mini-auction. Yet, he was picked up by Sunrisers in the auction for his base price of INR 1.5 Cr.
Now the player has been ruled out of the tournament and the fans will feel his absence. On the other hand, SRH will very soon announce his replacement.
SRH, under the leadership of Pat Cummins, faced a tough start to IPL 2024, where they lost their opening game to Kolkata Knight Riders by just four runs.
SRH then made a strong comeback, scoring their highest-ever team total and ultimately winning against five-time champions Mumbai Indians in a high-scoring match.
They face Gujarat Titans in their third match of the tournament’s group stage. However, in this match, Gujarat Titans did not allow SRH to go beyond anything and clinched the match by seven wickets.
