Rizwan was injured while batting in the third match and had to leave the game. He did not return to play for the rest of the match. The PCB has confirmed that Rizwan will be absent for the remaining two matches.

The PCB announced that they received the X-ray reports for Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan. After discussions with the team management, the PCB decided to send both players for rehabilitation with the medical team at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

“PCB Medical Panel yesterday received Radiology reports of Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan. After reviewing the reports and in consultation with the Pakistan team management, it has been decided to rest the two players from Thursday’s and Saturday’s T20Is against New Zealand.”

The statement further reads,”The two players will work on their rehabilitation with the PCB Medical Panel at NCA.”

The series is currently standing at equal position for both the teams, with Pakistan winning the second T20I and the first one being canceled due to rain. Mark Chapman played a key role in New Zealand’s important win in the third match, tying the series at 1-1. The fourth game is set for April 25th.
