Big Blow For Australia, Star All-Rounder Ruled Out Of 2023 ODI World Cup

The ODI World Cup is set to begin on October 5 in India, but before it the star all-rounder of Australia, Ashton Agar has been ruled out from the ODI World Cup which is a big disappointment for India.

Agar has been dealing with calf issues for a considerable period. He sustained a minor calf tear during his training with the Western Australia team before the Australian tour of South Africa. Although he made a comeback for the ODI series, he had to be withdrawn after just the first of the five matches due to continued discomfort and soreness in his calf.

Agar was very excited for the tournament and he previously said,”World Cups bring out the best in one-day cricket, particularly in India. You never know what pitch you’re going to get. But the chances are as a spinner that you’ll be playing, and there’s a chance that you play two spinners in a lot of the games, particularly if the pitches get tired.”

Agar returned home to be present for the birth of his child shortly afterward and consequently missed the series against India. Despite this, he remained a part of Australia’s squad for the World Cup and was anticipated to make a comeback during the warm-up matches.

The Australian team has been already dealing with the injuries of Nathan Ellis and Travis Head and the injury of Agar has given another set of worry to the team’s Cricket Management.
