Star Indian all-rounder and Mumbai Indians new captain Hardik Pandya has joined the team ahead of the upcoming IPL season. Pandya started his journey as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians on a segregated note as he set up a mandir in Mumbai’s dressing room.
Mumbai Indians shared the video of Hardik’s homecoming on their social media. In the video, Hardik Pandaya made his entry in style, wearing Mumbai’s jersey along with his kit bag. After his arrival, Hardik set up a mandir in Mumbai’s dressing room.
Along with Hardik Mumbai’s head coach, Mark Boucher also took part in the sacred ritual as he smashed coconuts on the floor. Hugs were shared between the support staff and the skipper, and the Mumbai Indians wrote the caption “Let’s get started.”.
The Mumbai Indians appointed Hardik Pandya as their skipper for the upcoming IPL season. He replaced Rohit Sharma under who’s captaincy. Mumbai Indians became one of the most successful teams in the IPL, winning five titles in the last 10 years.
Hardik Pandaya, on the other hand, won the IPL in 2022 as the skipper of the Gujarat Titans and led them to the finals in the next season. However, Hardik has been out of competitive cricket since the 2023 World Cup.
Mumbai Indians will hope that Hardik repeats his heroics as the skipper of Mumbai Indians as well.
The Mumbai Indians are set to begin their campaign on March 24 against the Gujarat Titans in Ahemdabad.
