The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League will kick off on 31st March. Players have started joining their team and now Chennai Super Kings have also got a reason to enjoy as the star all-rounder from England Ben Stokes is on the way to joining the MS Dhoni-led CSK.
In the mini-auction held last year in December, Chennai Super Kings got the captain of England’s Test team for a massive sum of INR 16.25 crore.
On Thursday, Stokes came on his official Twitter account to let Chennai Super Kings fans know that he is on his way to Chennai. He shared a picture of himself in a car during his journey and posted it with a message, “See you soon @ChennaiIPL.”
In recent weeks, there have been debates on Ben Stokes’ participation in IPL 2023 because of his ongoing knee problems. These issues have led to him being unable to bowl on several occasions in Test cricket for England.
Chennai Super Kings will play its first match against Gujarat Titans on 31st March at Narendra Modi Stadium which is also the opening encounter of IPL 2023.
