Indian Premier League 2023 is going to start on 31st March this month. Even before the start of this season, the Delhi Capitals team is in deep trouble. Rishabh Pant was leading the team last time, but this time he is not a part of the team due to a car accident.
Another big match-winner player of Delhi Capitals has been injured. Delhi Capitals pacer Anrich Nortje has been injured during the Test series West Indies. He is known for his lethal bowling attack. Now if Anrich cannot recover from his injury, then the tension of Delhi Capitals may increase.
Cricket South Africa stated that fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the second Test against the West Indies. Following an assessment by the South African medical team, he has been asked to rest as a precautionary measure.
CSA said, “Proteas fast bowler Anrich Nortje was injured during the first Test as a precaution. After this he was dropped from the Test team. The 29-year-old fast bowler took 5/36 and 1/48 in the first match at Centurion, which the Proteas won by 87 runs. No other player has been named in place of him.”
The two-match test series is part of the World Test Championship, but South Africa is out of contention for the WTC final to be held at The Oval on 7th June despite a win in the first match. South Africa won the first test match by 87 runs. The second test match will start on 8th March.
