BCCI to arrange a special train in Dharamshala for evacuation of players

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) organized a special Vande Bharat train to get the Delhi Capitals (DC), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and the broadcast crew from Dharamshala to Delhi. They made this call due to the recent issues in the area and the chaos that followed the last-minute cancellation of the IPL 2025 game between the two teams. According to a BCCI source, about 300 people, including players, support staff, and broadcasters, will take the fast train to ensure they get back safely and smoothly.

This news comes after the disappointing incident on Thursday night at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium, where the much-anticipated match was canceled because of a floodlight failure.

In other news, Pakistan launched eight missiles aimed at areas like Satwari, Samba, RS Pura, and Arnia, but Indian air defense managed to intercept all of them. There were also reports of explosions as drones from Pakistan were shot down in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, as well as in Jaisalmer.

Reports say there’s been a total blackout in places like Bikaner in Rajasthan and Jalandhar in Punjab, and blackouts are also happening in Kishtwar, Akhnoor, Samba, Jammu, and Amritsar. India had taken action in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting terrorist sites in Pakistan with precise strikes. They also stated that any attacks on military sites would lead to a strong response.

Spectators were told about the match cancellation and were asked to leave the stadium while both teams were taken back to their hotel. Shortly after, Punjab Kings confirmed the cancellation through their official social media, saying, “Match has been called off.”
