The BCCI has reportedly selected Dubai as the probable location for the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, with the dates being narrowed down to a range from December 15 to December 19.
Before that, the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction is scheduled for December 9. While the exact location for the WPL auction is yet to be confirmed, there’s a likelihood that it will be held in India.
While there hasn’t been an official announcement to the franchises, there are strong rumours suggesting that the IPL auction will likely occur in Dubai, with the preferred dates being December 18 or 19, even though they fall on weekdays.
In the previous year, the BCCI had contemplated holding the auction in Istanbul but ultimately chose Kochi. Following last year’s example, the plan to have the auction in Dubai might be provisional. However, all IPL franchises have been informed about the possibility of Dubai as the auction venue.
The trading window is presently open, but as of now, there haven’t been any reports of player exchanges between IPL franchises.
As of now, the BCCI has not informed the owners about the venue and dates for the Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction.
