BCCI not happy with Gautam Gambhir due to the following reason, Check the details inside

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revisited the analysis of India’s crushing 0-3 loss against New Zealand, with topics such as the selection of a turning pitch for the Mumbai Test, the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, and Gautam Gambhir’s approach to coaching also raised. Skipper Rohit Sharma, chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gambhir were all present along with BCCI secretary Jay Shah and president Roger Binny, with Gambhir connecting virtually. It has come to light that the queries were posed regarding some of the choices made by the team management during the series.

There was also the element of reinforcing the fact that Gambhir’s coaching is nothing like that of Dravid’s and the adaptation process being experienced by the team.

“It was a six hour long deliberation which was bound to take place after such a situation. India are going on a tour of Australia and the BCCI would obviously like to know the status of the team about the team and its management (Gambhir-Rohit-Agarkar) that is looking after it,” a senior BCCI official who spoke to PTI on a condition of anonymity said.

As it turns out, the BCCI mandarins were not too pleased that pace spearhead and the team’s vice-captain Bumrah was rested for the third Test and how a progressive team adopted a pitch with a similar character after losing on such surface at Pune.

“The reason for Bumrah’s absence was talked about even though it was precautionary. There were also some other issues like why certain conditions were picked such as the one which had a rank turner when India had not done well on those pitches,” the source disclosed.

The trio were asked how corrective action may be implemented.

It remains uncertain whether or not Gambhir’s coaching style became a point of contention. However, it is apparent that certain members of the Indian team management do not see eye to eye with the head coach.

Looking at the recently selected team for the test matches, the inclusion of all-rounder Nitish Reddy and new fast bowler Harshit Rana who has just made ten appearances in the Ranji Trophy has been contentious to say the least.

While the Indian cricket team is set to fly to Australia on the 10 and 11 of November, it will be going in two separate batches.
