BCCI has announced the Indian Test Squad For the West Indies tour starting on July 12. The senior batter Cheteshwar Pujara who used to play at no.3 for India has been sidelined for this tour. Rohit Sharma will continue his captaincy duties and there has been no rest for any prime senior players.
Star batter from Chennai Super Kings Ruturaj Gaikwad who helped CSK to win the fifth IPL trophy, has been called for the Test Series against West Indies. As usual, Shubman Gill will continue as the opening batsman with the captain of the side. The team can play Gaikwad at No. 3 in the absence of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli will keep his number four spot.
The RR batter who was in the squad during the ICC Test Championship final, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been added again to the team. In the bowling department, Navdeep Saini and Mukesh Kumar are the new additions to the side and Jaydev Unadkat has once again got a chance.
