Bangladesh Declared Squad For Asia CUP 2022, Shakib Al Hasan Named As Captain

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Saturday announced Shakib Al Hasan the skipper of the T20I side till the next T20 World Cup, slated to begin on October 16 in Australia.

The star all rounder will also lead Bangladesh team in Asia Cup as well.

This decision came when it was speculated that whether Shakib Al Hasan will feature in Bangladeshi team or not because of his deal with a betting site and BCB president had given strict warning to their star player to withdraw the deal.

It seems that Shakib Al Hasan has agreed to withdraw the deal with Betwinner and is all set to play for his country, and without him Bangladesh can’t event think of competing in ICC events.

With the appointment of Shakib Al Hasan as their captain, BCB have also declared their squad for Asia Cup 2022 which marks the comeback of stylish batter Shabbir Rahman who last featured for his country in September 2019 in a T20I game against Afghanistan in Chattogram.

Inclusion of injured wicket keeper Nurul Hasan will depend on his fitness.
