Bangladesh Announces Squad For The ODI Series Against Afghanistan, 36 Year Old All-rounder Makes His Comeback

Bangladesh cricket board has announced the squad for the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. The first match of the three-match ODI series will be played on July 5 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, in Chattogram.

The star all-rounder of Bangladesh Shakib Al Hasan has made a comeback to the squad for the forthcoming three-match series. The 36-year-old player was not part of the team during the one-off Test against Afghanistan at Mirpur’s Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium. He was out from the team due to his finger injury which he got during the ODI series against Ireland. The host will look to gain another series win after a streak of victories against India and Ireland.

Before the series against Afghanistan, Bangladesh played a series against Ireland. The series included a T20I series, a Test match, and an ODI series. Bangladesh served as the host for the limited-overs series, while the Test match and ODI series took place in the United Kingdom. Under the captaincy of Tamim Iqbal, Bangladesh emerged victorious in the series.

After the three-match ODI series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan, a three-match T20I series is scheduled to take place.
