Bad News: For Rishabh Pant Fans As The Doctors Come With The Wicketkeeper Health Update

The news for the Indian team fans and Rishabh Pant fans is not coming good from Mumbai’s KokilaBen Hospital. The doctors have checked the wicket-keeper batter and said that Pant will at least take 8-9 months for his comeback to the cricket field.

The doctors’ words indicate that Pant will not only miss the IPL 2023 but also the Asia Cup 2023 and then the much-awaited ODI World Cup set to happen in India.

The surgery and all the treatment of Pant are going under the supervision of Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala – Director of Sports Orthopedics at Kokilaben hospital. He examined Pant on Tuesday morning and felt the cricketer is not going to recover any time soon.

The doctors had a conversation with InsideSport and according to it no MRI or surgery can be done until Pant’s swelling reduces. Pant has got a serious ligament tear and he will take at least 8-9 months to get fit.

A source who is close to the BCCI medical team said, “At this stage the extent of the tear is not known. A clearer picture can only come in the next 3-4 days. But the doctors at the hospital feel Pant’s ligament tear is of severe nature. The kind of workload a wicketkeeper has to go through makes us feel Pant can come back to competitive cricket only after 6-9 months.”

IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal also talked to the media on Tuesday and said, “We will be taking care of him in the best possible manner. But at this stage, any kind of comment on the extent of his injury would be mere speculation. Let doctors do their thorough procedures & observations. Post that we can give any statement on the status of his injury.”

Doctors feel that Rishabh Pant was brought to Mumbai as he needed rest and less attention from people gathering in the hospital. Here the doctors will monitor everything and as the wounds get recovered they will go for ligament treatment.
