Babar Azam Reveals His Role Model In Cricket And He Is Not A Pak Player

Babar Azam, the captain, and talisman of Pakistan is one of the most well-known batsmen in the world of cricket right now. Babar will now compete against England in a historic Test Series after guiding his country to the T20 World Cup final. Prior to the start of the first Test on December 1, the Pakistan captain spoke with former England captain Nasser Hussain in an interview about his childhood role model.

Babar Azam has stated that great South African batsman AB de Villiers is his role model and that he used to mimic his strokes in the net after watching him bat.

During an interview with Babar Azam uploaded on Pakistan’s official YouTube channel said, “My role model is AB de Villiers. I love him. The way he has played, the way he played his shots. I saw him on the TV and the very next day, I tried his shots in the nets. I tried to copy AB de Villiers, tried to look and play like him. He is my idol.”

The fact that England is making their first Test Series tour to Pakistan in 17 years is a historic development for Pakistan cricket. Babar Azam welcomed the Three Lions to his country and stated his desire to participate in the series.

Babar said, “Yes, we are looking forward to the series. First of all, I welcome the England team here (in Pakistan). I think a few boys have already represented the side in the T20 squad and there are a few new faces, so I think they should enjoy a lot. Enjoy the conditions, and enjoy the hospitality in Pakistan. We are certainly looking forward to the series and everyone wants to play good cricket!”

On November 1 at Rawalpindi, the first game of the three-match series is slated to start. However, The game had unprecedented problems as 14 players from the England camp got sick. It was rumored to be postponed but the latest update says that it is scheduled to start at the same date as before, that is, on 01 December.
