Babar Azam Equals The World Record Of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand are playing a tri-series which is going on in New Zealand only. Pakistan recently lost a T20 series against England but now the team has come strong and won two back-to-back series, the first against Bangladesh and the second against New Zealand.

In the match against New Zealand, Pakistan won the battle by 6 wickets. For the team, captain Babar Azam played a blistering knock of 79 runs in just 53 balls. During this knock, Babar Azam equaled the world record of both Virat Kohli and Indian captain Rohit Sharma.

This was the 28th T20I fifty for Babar Azam and he achieved this feat in the same number of innings which Virat Kohli did for India. Both Babar and Kohli have reached this milestone in the 84 innings. On the other hand, this was Babar Azam’s 12th half-century while chasing and now he is the joint third-highest by a batter in the format. During this, he equaled Rohit Sharma. The top 2 players in this list are Australian opener David Warner(19) and Virat Kohli(18) from India.

Talking about the match, New Zealand won the toss and opt to bat first. After being invited for the batting New Zealand scored 147/8 in 20 overs.  Pakistan got this target in 18.2 overs at the loss of 4 wickets.
