In just 15 days, during the fourth Twenty20 International match between Pakistan and England at The Oval in London on May 30, skipper Babar Azam of Pakistan broke yet another record held by Virat Kohli. After surpassing India’s contemporary icon, 29-year-old Babar is now the highest run scorer in T20I history against England.
Before the fourth Twenty20 International, Babar needed to score 16 more runs to overtake Virat, who had 639 runs against the Three Lions in the sport’s shortest format.

With five fours and a six to enable him score 36 off 22 balls against the two-time T20 global champions, Babar broke the previous record and set a new one.

To Babar’s dismay, Pakistan lost the fourth Twenty20 International and gave up the series 2-0 as a result of their subpar on-field performance.
“After six overs we were doing very well, but then I got out, the middle-order needed to step up. England’s bowling is very good, so I have to take any chances. I need to sort out those things for the World Cup. A few injuries but a lot of positives, our play is good in patches, but to win you need 100%,” Babar said during the post-match presentation.
