Australian Coach Revealed A Unique Plan For Beating Indian Team In India

In 2023, cricket fans will get more entertainment than ever because they have a chance to witness the Indian Premier League 16, World Test Championship 2021-23, ODI World Cup 2023, Asia Cup 2023, etc., series. But before this series, the Indian team will host the Australian derby for Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

This series consists of four test match series and looking at the WTC 2021-23, these four test matches are really important for the Indian team.

There is no warm-up match played between both the nation just ahead of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and the first Test cricket match will start in Nagpur on February 9.

Australia hasn’t won the Border Gavaskar trophy in India for 19 years; looking at this; the Australian coach has revealed a unique plan to beat the Indian team in India. “McDonald said that we had adopted a strategy of not playing practice matches in the last few series on overseas tours. I think our team does not need this kind of match practice. We will go to India a week before the first test. We do not want to spend too much time on preparations”.

Speaking on this, Australian coach McDonald further said that staying mentally and physically fresh is more important than going to India, playing practice matches, and adjusting to the condition.

Australia won this series in India under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist in 2004-05. In 2017, the last time when they visited India, they lost the series by 2-1 under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.

Coach McDonald further added that he would go to India with a large team. He expressed hope that bowling leader Mitchell Starc and all-rounder Cameron Green will be totally fit before the India tour, and he will most probably play the first test match. Players like Peter Handscomb, Mitchell Swepson, and Todd Murphy can also be included in the squad for the tour.
