Australia Announce 18-Member Squad For The Border-Gavaskar Trophy For India Tour, 4 Spinners Make Into The List

Cricket Australia has announced the 18-member squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar trophy which will start on February 9. The series will be played right after the India-New Zealand limited-overs series.

Four spinners have been part of the squad who are traveling to India. The left-arm spinner Todd Murphy along with Mitchell Swepson, Ashton Agar, and Nathan Lyon.

Wicketkeeper Peter Handscomb will be making his test comeback after 2019. He along with Matt Renshaw will be treated as a reserve batter. Marcus Harris who is not in good form has been ruled out.

Uncapped pacer Lance Morris could also make his test debut as Mitchell Starc is not available for the first test.

Talking about the young Todd Murphy sector George Bailey said,”Todd Murphy has progressed quickly having impressed in domestic cricket and recently with Australia A. With those performances Todd has emerged as a strong spin option.”
