AUS vs PAK, 1st Test: Pakistan Announces Playing XI For The First Test Against Australia, Shaheen Afridi Picked As Captain

Star pacer of the Australian cricket team Shaheen Shah Afridi has been selected as the vice-captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team for the upcoming three-match Test series against Australia. This series is part of the 2023-2025 World Test Championship cycle.

The first game between Pakistan and Australia will be played from December 14-18 at the famous Optus Stadium, in Perth.

Shaheen has played 27 Test matches, 53 ODIs, and 52 T20Is for Pakistan. In tests, he has garnered 105 wickets, in ODIs 104, and 64 wickets in T20I cricket. The 23-year-old was entrusted with the captaincy of Pakistan’s T20 team after Babar Azam relinquished the captaincy across all after a disappointing campaign in the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in India.

Furthermore, Pakistan enters the upcoming series with confidence and they currently occupy the top spot in the WTC 2023-25 points table after a series triumph over Sri Lanka in July of this year.
