AUS vs PAK, 1st Test, 2023: Australia Announces Playing XI For The 1st Test Against Pakistan

Australia has announced the lineup for the first Test match of their ICC World Test Championship series against Pakistan in Perth. The match will commence on December 14 at Melbourne Cricket Around.

As we know, the star left-handed batter David Warner is playing his last game in the longest format of the cricket and he will be announcing the game after the three-match Test series.

Pat Cummins leads Australia in their initial international match of this summer. Notably, Travis Head assumes the role of vice-captain alongside Steve Smith.

Travis has done some tremendous performances in the past and his back to back match winning performances in the recently concluded ODI World Cup semifinal and final has been remarkable.

Additionally, spinner Nathan Lyon makes a return to the playing XI, replacing fellow tweaker Todd Murphy. This is the only change to the Australian lineup from the team that faced England in the concluding match of the Ashes series at The Oval. Lyon missed the international cricket against England due to a severe calf injury.
