AUS vs NZ: Star Australian All-Rounder Ruled Out Of The 3rd ODI, David Warner Also Rested

Currently, New Zealand is on an Australia tour where both the teams are heading for the 3rd ODI in the 3-match ODI series. Australia is leading this series by 2-0 and the third ODI will be played on September 11 at Cazaly’s stadium.

Before this 3rd ODI, Australia has gotten a setback as the team’s star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of the 3rd ODI due to an injury. At the same time, star opener David Warner has been released from the squad to rest. Australia won the 2nd ODI by 113 runs and in that match, Stoinis did not go that well with the bat and ball. He faced 6 deliveries in the match but got a duck. In bowling, he got one wicket in his 3 overs giving away 14 runs.

In a statement released by Cricket Australia, the management said, “Stoinis will undergo treatment in rehabilitation in Perth leading into the tour of India.”

As a replacement for Marcus Stoinis, Cricket Australia has roped in pacer Nathan Ellis who has played three ODIs for the team.

Australia won the first game against New Zealand by 2 wickets, thanks to the heroic performance with the bat by Cameron Green who scored 89 off 92 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six.

The match on Sunday between New Zealand and Australia will also be the last match of Aaron Finch‘s ODI career as he has announced his retirement from 50-Over Cricket
