Asia Cup 2023 Likely To Be Hosted In Pakistan, But India-Pakistan Matches To Be Held In This Country

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has now come up with a solution to retain the hosting rights for the 2023 Asia Cup despite the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) having said that they won’t send their team to Pakistan for the tournament. To host the tournament and include India, PCB has found a new way.

According to ESPNcricinfo, in the 2023 Asia Cup, India matches will be held at a neutral venue and one of the potential locations for these fixtures is England. The report also mentions that India and Pakistan will face each other to play against each other twice during the tournament and both these matches are likely to be played in England.Apart from England, UAE, Oman, and Sri Lanka are also being considered potential hosts for the 2023 Asia Cup.

The last time the Asia Cup was played in the T20 format and Sri Lanka was the winner of it.This year Asia Cup will be played in the 50-over format marking a return to the traditional format of the tournament. In 2022, the tournament was played in the T20 format to help the teams prepare for the T20 World Cup.

This year India is hosting the ODI world cup in October and to prepare for it the 50-over format has returned for the tournament.The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has not yet released the schedule for the Asia Cup. However, it is expected that the tournament will be held in September.
