After the terrific win of team India against Pakistan in the third match of the super-4 stage, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has praised the Indian wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul for his outstanding century. Rahul is making his comeback after some months and this century was much needed before going into the World Cup.
KL Rahul remained not out on 111 runs from 106 deliveries. This performance along with contributions from Rohit Sharma and his team, allowed them to establish a huge target of 357 runs for the Pakistan team. India dismissed the Babar Azam-led Pakistan side for just 128 runs and managed to win the match by a margin of 228 runs.
While talking to his official youtube channel, Chopra said that the century of KL Rahul was more important than the Virat Kohli’s 122-run knock.
He said,”Kohli’s century was important but KL Rahul’s century was even more important because KL Rahul was not going to play this match at all. It was a disaster that a guy got injured, that’s Shreyas Iyer, and he suddenly got a chance.”
Aakash Chopra said that the six hit by KL Rahul against the Pakistani spinner Shadab khan showed his class.
Aakash Chopra stated,”Learn from this player how to turn a calamity into an opportunity. He hit a six against the spin after dancing down the track off Shadab Khan’s bowling. That six shows why this team invests so much in him and why we say as a broken record that Kamal Lajawab Rahul is a quality player.”
