The Asia Cup tournament will be played from 30th August. The tournament will be jointly hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and two biggest arch-rivals, India and Pakistan will face each other on September 2 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Fans are eagerly waiting for this super clash and meanwhile, the former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has given his verdict on the winner of this match.
Ganguly feels that none of the teams between India and Pakistan will be favourites. Both Rohit Sharma’ side and Babar Azam’s side will come with a balanced team and both the teams will start as the favourites.
Pakistan has emerged as a challenge for India in recent times. The opening batsmen of the Indian squad have struggled against the swing bowling of Shaheen Shah Afridi. India secured victory against Pakistan in their previous encounter during the T20 World Cup where Virat Kohli delivered a commanding performance against Pakistan’s bowling lineup. Kohli will once again look to replicate the same performance.
While talking to the media in Kolkata, the former BCCI president said,”It would be tough for me to name the favourite to win the match. Both the teams are really good. Pakistan has a good team, India too are really solid. Whoever plays well will win, I don’t think there’s anyone favourite as such. Whoever plays well will emerge victorious.”
