Asia Cup 2023: Babar Azam Confirms Playing XI For Tournament Opener Against Nepal

Pakistan cricket team has revealed their playing XI for the first match of the Asia Cup 2023 against Nepal on Wednesday, August 30th, in Multan. The team has chosen its most experienced players as they want to commence the tournament with a victory.

The fast bowling trio comprising Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Haris Rauf will once again make a combination for the eleven. In addition to this, the team hosting the match has made the decision to include two dedicated spinners in the form of Shadab Khan who also holds the position of vice-captain, and Mohammad Nawaz.

While attending a press conference, skipper Babar Azam said that they won’t take Nepal very lightly, “We are focused on tomorrow’s game against Nepal. They have a good bunch of players, so we are not taking them lightly and we will try to play our best cricket. We want to win the Asia Cup and the World Cup. We have some competitive and exciting next few months lined up and we are eager to do well for our country.”

Babar Azam will look to maintain his dream run with the bat as he did against Afghanistan. He scored two most important half-centuries for the team which helped them to clinch the series against the Afghans.
