The All-time XI of IPL has been announced by veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin with an inclusion of seven Indian players. The absence of some icons was notable too such as Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Gautam Gambhir among others. Ashwin chose four players from Mumbai Indians in his team while two were selected from Chennai Super Kings, the former club of his. Concerning the captaincy choice, Ms Dhoni was chosen by Ashwin over Rohit Sharma despite the latter having won more IPL titles particularly as captain.
At the very start, he selected Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as openers while Mr IPL Suresh Raina came in third position. Rohit and Virat have been opening for their respective teams for a long time in the IPL while at times they played together for India in T20Is.
In the fourth position, Ashwin selected Mr. 360 Suryakumar Yadav from Mumbai Indians, followed by the original Mr. 360 in the lineup. For the wicket keeper position, MS Dhoni was an obvious choice for Ashwin’s team with him also getting the captaincy role.
To start with spin bowling department, Ashwin had chosen Sunil Narine and Rashid Khan as his players. These two are not only world class spinners but also great batsmen.
