Ashwin Became The No.1 Test Bowler; Virat, Ashwin, And Axar Also Jumped In The Test Ranking

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently updated the latest Test rankings. Star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has regained the top spot in the bowling rankings. Besides this, India’s star batsman Virat Kohli and all-rounder Axar Patel have also made significant progress in the ranking.

Ravichandran Ashwin retained the top spot, leaving England fast bowler James Anderson behind by 10 points. Ashwin-Anderson were jointly at the top, but now the Indian off-spinner has overtaken them.

Virat Kohli ended a three-year drought by scoring his 28th career century in the fourth Test against Australia. Kohli made a huge jump of seven places to reach the 13th position in the batting rankings. India’s left-hand wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant slipped to 9th position, and captain Rohit Sharma is standing on the 10th position.

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja remains at the top spot in the rounder category. Axar Patel took two wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but he scored three half-centuries with the bat. Patel jumped eight places to reach the 44th position in the batting rankings. At the same time, he has reached the fourth position on the list of all-rounders.

Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne (915 points) occupies first in the ICC batting rankings. Steve Smith (872) is second, Joe Root (871) third, Babar Azam (862) fourth, and Travis Head (853) fifth.

Ashwin (869) is at the top position among bowlers. James Anderson (859) is second, Pat Cummins (841) third, Kagiso Rabada (825) fourth, and Shaheen Afridi (787) is on the fifth spot.

Ravindra Jadeja (431) is at number-1 in the list of all-rounders. Ravichandran Ashwin (359) is second, Shakib Al Hasan (329) third, Axar Patel (316) fourth, and Ben Stokes (307) fifth.
