Rajasthan Royals (RR) fired back with a strong letter after Jaydeep Bihani, who leads the Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) ad-hoc committee, accused them of match-fixing. This came after RR lost two close games against Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants, where they were in good positions to win. The team completely denies these accusations, but a report suggests that the RCA’s complaints might be linked to ticket sales.
According to The Times of India, the RCA has been getting fewer tickets for IPL 2025 than usual. Normally, they would receive about 1,800 tickets per match from RR, but now that number has dropped to around 1,000-1,200. An insider from RR explained that, at the beginning of the season, the BCCI told them to work with the Rajasthan State Sports Council (RSSC) because the RCA is dissolved.
The insider added that some unhappy members of the RCA want more tickets than what’s reasonable, and RR isn’t giving in to their demands, which might be fueling this whole situation.
While Rajasthan Royals have denied Bihani’s claims, a BCCI official also spoke against the RCA. They pointed out that the RCA is dissolved and that with elections coming up, there’s a lot of drama. The BCCI has an anti-corruption unit constantly monitoring to keep the game clean, and they say these allegations are baseless.
RR also pushed back against the claims made by Bihani, stating that these public statements are misleading and hurt the reputation of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI, damaging the integrity of cricket overall. So far this season, RR has only managed to win two out of eight matches, including two recent games where they collapsed while trying to chase down just 9 runs in 6 balls.
