Anil Kumble drops a massive statement on Jasprit Bumrah regarding playing the final two matches

In the third India versus England Test at Lord’s, Jasprit Bumrah showed his skills with both bat and ball. He batted at No. 10 and along with Ravindra Jadeja faced 54 balls and brought India closer to a 193 run target. But India lost the match by 22 runs and now trail 1-2 in the series. To tie the series and have a chance to win, India need to win the fourth Test in Manchester starting from July 23.

There is a question whether Bumrah will play in the match. Before the series BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar said that Bumrah will play only three matches to manage his workload. Bumrah was out of action for a while due to injury after the Border Gavaskar Trophy earlier in the year. He was rested for the second Test match in Birmingham.

Anil Kumble, the former India coach and captain, thinks Bumrah should play the next two Tests. Kumble said on JioHotstar that if he were part of the team, he would push Bumrah to play the next game because it’s very important and if he doesn’t play and they lose the Test match then the series is over. He thinks Bumrah should play both the Test matches, knowing that Bumrah said he will only play three. Kumble says there is a long break after that so Bumrah doesn’t need to play the home series and can take a break if he wants but Bumrah should be playing next.

When asked about Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the fourth Test, India captain Shubman Gill said we will know soon. At Lord’s India had one of their most heartbreaking losses in Test cricket, with a half century by Ravindra Jadeja and good support from tailenders Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Team India couldn’t chase a 193 run target and fell short by 22 runs after a great fight from a tough spot at 82/7.
